Every third Wednesday of the month the Statler Group, hosted by Gina Boyd, will meet. Each month an aspect of Creative Studio will be demonstrated and a handout will be provided. Bring a thumb drive, and you can take the project home for additional practice. Usually, we will use Stand Alone Mode (SAM) but some projects may be stitched out on one of the floor machines. The group will share tips and tricks and there will be a time for sharing each person’s own quilts and techniques. Topics will be solicited from attendees, and all levels of knowledge are welcome.  Let’s learn together!

This group will resume in September. See you in the fall!

Gina Boyd

Avoiding her sewing machine, Gina Boyd practiced many crafts over the years. In late 2007, however, she wanted to replicate a quilt her sister made for her. She dusted off her machine, which she hadn’t used for 20 years, and began to duplicate the quilt. She wanted to hide how the original quilt was beyond repair. In the process, she fell in love with quilting and sewing. Gina’s sister suddenly passed away before that quilt could be returned from a professional long-arm quilter. She started quilting to “trick” her sister, but her sister actually “tricked” her into loving quilting. Gina pursues quilting with a passion. In 2010, she began long-arm quilting and in 2015, purchased a Gammill with a Statler Stitcher. She had a quilt featured in Quilt Con’s 2016 magazine. She digitizes her own patterns and began learning the CS program with the same passion she has for quilting.
