School of Sewing: Freshman Year
Go back to school with the School of Sewing series. These classes are designed to teach students basic sewing skills, including fabric selection, cutting techniques and sewing machine basics. Each class covers new topics that increase in difficulty with the progression of the series. The first class of the series will include a kit and the book for class; there will be a supply list for subsequent classes. Bring your own machine, or use one of ours. Each of the three units of the Freshman Year has four, 3-hour classes. Units must be taken in order.
Course level: Beginner
Instructor: Angel Chesney ($100 per unit)
Angel Chesney started teaching sewing in the Spring of 2003 with an appliqué table runner, and she's never looked back. Combining a love of sewing with a desire to share it with all who are interested, she delights in teaching sewists of all ages everything from beginning sewing to advanced embroidery. And she teaches with a focus on understanding why it all works. Her roots are in Central Oregon, one of today's hotbeds of quilt activity. One of her goals is to help bring fun and simplicity to all she can with the spirit of: "It's amazing what you can do when you don't know you can't!" So, how can she help YOU love sewing more today?
