Serger Mastery I
This class is a must for anyone determined to conquer his/her serger. In this class, topics we cover include threading, balancing tensions, serger construction techniques and serger maintenance. Using various types of fabrics, you’ll learn where, when, why, and how to easily change settings on your machine. Marilyn Stanley is a certified Family and Consumer Scientist with a Masters in Education who teaches in the Fashion Program at Sacramento City College and numerous Adult Education classes in the Sacramento area. Her vast background in clothing, textiles, and fashion contribute to her precise approach toward personal garment fitting and construction. As a Certified Palmer/Pletsch Instructor in Fit, Pant Fit, and Tailoring, she has been one of Sacramento's most popular and in-demand educators for leading workshops in fitting solutions and serging techniques. She originated the first Sewing club in the Sacramento area in 1984 with a monthly serger club meeting at the Yardage Shop on Arden Way. She began teaching the "Know Your Serger" classes in 1989 for Meissner's Sewing and Learning Center.
