Ruth Anne Schroeder

Ruth Anne is a fifth-generation Sacramento local who currently resides in Folsom. Ruth Anne can’t remember a time when she wasn’t sewing. She began sewing as a little girl, starting with toy chain stitching machines. She grew into her mother’s machines and more difficult projects, like Barbie clothes. In Junior High and High School she sewed many of her own clothes. She occasionally still sews for herself but mostly enjoys sewing for her granddaughter. In addition to garments, she also sews quilts and home decor. Ruth Anne is a retired Home Economics teacher who took her love of sewing to the classroom, teaching high school students. She entered early retirement when the school discontinued the Home Economics courses she was teaching, but she found that she could teach privately to adults through a small quilt shop, teaching on a weekly basis for three years. Ruth Anne has a vast knowledge of sewing from garment construction to quilt making, enjoying each project. She also loves sharing her knowledge with others.
