Everybody has their favorite color. When you ask what it is, people’s answers vary from blue to aquamarine. What they are talking about is the property of color called hue, meaning the spectral or color wheel name. Hue is what we lose our hears to and is usually where we begin the process of creating a color scheme. In this class, we will build on Color Confidence 101 by focusing on hue – how to make the hue you love look its very best. The hands-on exercises with paper and fabric swatches will help you discover how to make your favorite colors sing in analogous or complementary schemes. Again, you will work in small teams, sharing your color perceptions and learning from others. This directed practice will increase your color confidence. Pre-requisite: Color Confidence 101.

Charlene ORourke

Charlene has been doing needlework for over 50 years, but she wasn’t born with her talent. She learned design and color the hard way. Fortunately, these are skills like any other and she has the blue ribbons to prove that she has mastered them. In 1994, she was awarded the first Master Craftsman certificate for Color ever issued by the Embroiderers’ Guild of America. She has been teaching color theory for over 35 years.
