Nadina Giorgi

After a 35-year hiatus, Nadina decide to revisit the craft of sewing. All she really wanted to do at that time was make a draw string bag like the one she had inadvertently given away to her grandson (and didn’t have the heart to ask for back). She was thrilled to discover new items that made sewing easier and less frustrating (e.g. rotary cutters, self-threading machines, etc.). She made bags and then soon was back to garment construction. Along the way she found about this thing called machine embroidery. At first, she approached this unknown cautiously, but less than 3 years later she was bringing home a multi-needle machine. As a scientist, she is drawn to the problem-solving aspect of sewing and embroidery as well as the “what happens if I try this” approach to learn and better understand. She was thrilled to become an event ambassador and then an instructor at Meissner’s. She loves being able to create unique items and have more clothes in colors of her own choosing. She also loves being able to share her love of machine embroidery with others.
